Jennifer Hemstreet strives to create images that give a new perspective to the mysterious, magical and misunderstood. The name ‘Lovely Macabre’ is inspired by the Japanese phrase ‘Momo no aware’ - The fleeting beauty of life and death.

Jennifer grew up between worlds after her family immigrated from Toronto, Ontario Ca to Fort Myers Beach, FL. Her childhood was a juxtaposition of skyscrapers and trips to the swamp. She got her BFA at Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston where she had a focus in contemporary fine art, printmaking, film theory and human sexuality/intersectional feminism. Currently Jen creates art in West Palm Beach, FL.
